NEXT HEALTHY FLEET CHALLENGE KICKS OFF MAY 1

TORONTO, Ont. — The 2016 Healthy Fleet Challenge is just weeks away, kicking off May 1 and spanning until the end of September.
Organizers of the challenge say the challenge promises to be the most exciting one yet, new ways to participate and for the first time, some great prizes to be awarded to participants at the end of May. The challenge allows participants in the trucking industry to compete aganst one another to see how many steps each person can take per day. An online leaderboard keeps score of every participant in the challenge via a signal from his/her activity tracker.

If you do not have one of the approved activity trackers (Fitbit, Withings or Garmin), Healthy Fleet organizers say can now use a paper calendar to manually track your activity by circling the number of minutes you were active for each day. This opens up the challenge to people who participate in activities that don’t generate a lot of steps, such as biking, swimming, and weight lifting. There will be a copy of the calendar in the May issue of Truck News. You can also e-mailinfo@healthyfleet.com and ask for the tracking calendar. The data will be collected at the end of May for the first leg of the challenge.
This year, Healthy Fleet is also giving away prizes for participants. In the past, participants have competed for bragging rights, but now anyone who shows consistent effort throughout the competition will be eligible to win prizes! That’s right, you don’t have to be the top stepper, because everyone who does their best to move their bodies more is a winner. Here’s what’s up for grabs:
* 2 Healthy Trucker prize packs, including a portable blender, a kettlebell, gym bag, t-shirt and more!
* 2 Fitbit Alta step tracking devices
* Grand Prize: A 47” flat screen TV!
It’s free to join the challenge. To sign up, e-mail info@healthyfleet.com with your company’s high resolution logo to be set up and given further instructions.
