
A gallon of diesel cost an average $2.128 nationwide last week — which is still nearly 63 cents per gallon less than a year ago last week, according to figures released Monday by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).
The highest prices — at an average $2.437 per gallon — were found in California and the lowest prices registered at $1.992 in the Gulf Coast states — the only area where the petroleum product remains at under two dollars a gallon.

East Coast: $2.179 last week, $2.187 this week
New England: $2.243 last week, $2.237 this week
Central Atlantic: $2.296 last week, $2.301 this week
Lower Atlantic: $2.077 last week, $2.090 this week
Midwest: $2.065 last week, $2.082 this week
Gulf Coast: $1.983 last week, $1.992 this week
Rocky Mountains: $2.123 last week, $2.142 this week
California: $2.426 last week, $2.437 this week.
