MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — Trucker Path said Monday that Trucker Pro, its trip-planning app for professional drivers has been updated with an additional 1,000 locations to expand what the company says already is the largest source of parking data in the trucking industry.
With the latest inclusion, Trucker Path Pro now provides information on truck parking availability at more than 27,000 locations along the National Highway System.
Trucker Path Pro’s crowd-sourcing technology captures accurate, real-time information on truck parking availability from its active user community, according to Ivan Tsybaev, Trucker Pro founder.
More than 400,000 drivers, or 30 percent of all Class 8 drivers in the United States, use the app for daily trip planning, he said.
The app delivers real time and predictive information that enables users to find available truck parking at locations by time of day and day of week.
“We are committed to improving the shortage of truck parking by providing drivers with the most accurate and detailed information that is available today,” Tsybaev said. “By helping drivers locate parking and optimize their stops along their routes, Trucker Path Pro contributes to safety, compliance and job satisfaction in the trucking industry.”
With many of the recently added parking locations selling fuel, Trucker Path Pro has also expanded its nationwide coverage of real-time fuel pricing information, Tsybaev said.
The app is available to company drivers and owner-operators as a free download on iOS and Android devices.
With more than 1 million installs, Trucker Path Pro has the highest rating of all trip-planning apps on Google Play, Tsybaev said.
Trucker Path also offers a free optimized freight marketplace supported by a large community of freight companies and motor carriers.
In early 2013, Trucker Path, a Silicon Valley-based company, released a crowdsourcing trip planning and resource locator mobile app called Trucker Path.
This was followed by the release of Truckloads, an online marketplace specializing in connecting freight companies to carriers, in late 2015.
The core Trucker Path application for iOS and Android platforms provides information for truck operators, including locations of truck stops, weigh stations and car wash facilities specialized for trucks. Information gathered on the location of these stops was based on user-generated input and ratings. Each location can be given a star rating by users.
Recently named to the Red Herring Top 100-North America, Trucker Path is based in Mountain View, California, with an additional office in Texas.
In June 2015, Trucker Path raised $20,000,000 of capital which makes in total $21,500,000 of funding to-date.
Freight companies and motor carriers can download Truckloads on mobile devices and also access a web version at www.truckloads.truckerpath.com.
