After the drinking water in Flint, Michigan was contaminated, Meritor employees in Troy, Michigan, came together to collect thousands of bottles of drinking water. Several Meritor trucks delivered the water to Flint on Feb. 26.
The “Flint Water Haul” campaign organized the collection of more than 4,000 cases of 24 16.9-ounce bottles of water.
The 850 employee’s at Meritor’s headquarters in Troy divided into four teams, with each team competing to see who could donate the most water.
“When we saw the magnitude of the water crisis in our neighboring Michigan city, Meritor employees stepped up by donating water that’s safe for people to drink,” said Krista Sohm, vice president of Meritor’s marketing and communications.
