Nation’s Truckers Enjoy an Average 3.4-cent Drop in Diesel Prices

Diesel fuel prices dropping nearly 6 cents a gallon in the Rocky Mountain states last week, and with smaller declines seen in all of the other regions of the nation, plenty of smiles could be seen on truck drivers’ faces at truck stops throughout the U.S.
The average per-gallon price for a gallon of diesel fuel dropped 3.4 cents to $2.177, a figure that is more than 87 cents per gallon less expensive than a year ago last week.


The largest weekly decrease was in the Rocky Mountains for a second week in a row. The lowest fuel prices in the nation — at $2.080 — were recorded in Gulf Coast states.

East Coast: $2.260 last week, $2.229 this week
New England: $2.344 last week, $2.335 this week
Central Atlantic: $2.391 last week, $2.350 this week
Lower Atlantic: $2.143 last week, $2.116 this week
Midwest: $2.130 last week, $2.096 this week
Gulf Coast: $2.114 last week, $2.080 this week
Rocky Mountains: $2.191 last week, $2.134 this week
California: $2.595 last week, $2.562 this week.
